Sum of two forces is 16n .Resultant force is 8n is perpendicular to smaller force ,then find the forces

GIVEN:-

• Sum of two forces = 16 N
• Resultant force = 8 N

CALCULATION:-

Let, smaller force = x

Longer force = 16 - x

${F}^{2} + {8}^{2} = {(16-F)}^{2} \\ 256 - 32 \:F = 64 \\ = 256 - 64 \: /32 \\= 6N$

==> smaller force is 6 N.

Therefore, longer force = 16 - 6 = 10 N
