Let x and y be the two nos.

  According to the question , we have

 x + y = 81     -     eq(1)

 2x = y  

  x = y/2       -    eq(2)

 Substituting the value of x in eq(1), we get

      x + y = 81

      y/2 + y = 81

      (y + 2y)/2 = 81

       3y/2 = 81

      3y = 81 × 2

      3y = 162

        y = 162/3

           = 54

     then, x = 54/2

                  = 27

   ∴ The two nos. are 27 and 54 .
