Difference = 4

Let one of them be = m

Other = n

n= m-4

ATQ :

$\sf{m + n = 8}....(i)$

$\sf{m - n = 4}......(ii)$

On adding (i) & (ii)

$\sf{m + n + m - n = 8 + 4}$

$\sf{2m + \cancel n - \cancel{n} = 12}$

$\sf{m = \frac{12}{2} = 6 }$

$\sf{m = 6}$

$\sf{n = m - 4 = 6 - 4 = 2}$
