sum of two number is 108. If one exceeds the other by 42 , find the numbers

Answer:

Let two numbers are a and b

Then a+b=108.....(1)

And a-b=42......(2)

Froma 1 and 2 we get

2a=150

so a=75

put value of a in equation 1

Now b=108-75=33
