 \boxed{question}

Sum of two number is 45 and the greatest number is twice the smaller number . Find the number.

 \boxed{answer}

\sf\large\underline\purple{Given:)}

  • Sum of two numbers is 45
  • the greatest number is twice the smaller number.

\sf\large\underline\purple{to find}

  • find the number

\sf\large\underline\purple{solution:)}

let the number be x,

so smallest number = x

greatest number = 2x

sum = 45

x + 2x = 45

3x = 45

x =  \frac{45}{3}  = 15

if the value of x = 15

so smallest number = 15

greatest number = 2 × 15 = 30 .

\sf\large\underline\purple{let verify  :)}

according to the question, sum = first number + second number

45 = 15+ 30

45 = 45

the sum of 15 and 30 is 45

so , it is verified ✓

Hence, we do it ✓

{ \huge{ \underline{ \underline{ \frak{ \red{Required \: answer: }}}}}}

the two numbers be x and y.

where, x >y

--x + y = 45 --[1]

--x = 2y ..(2)--[2]

from [1]

--x + y = 45

--2y+y = 45--[from 2]

--3y = 45

--y = 15

put this value in equation [1], we get

--x + 15 = 45

--x = 30

hence the two number is 30 and 15

{ \huge{ \sf{ \boxed{ \red{30 \:, 15}}}}}

{ \huge{ \underline{ \underline{ \frak{ \red{Verify:}}}}}}

--30 + 15 = 45

--= 45...

Hence Verifed...
