Answer:

first number is 6 and the second number is 3

Step-by-step explanation:

let the numbers be x

:- according to question,

x +x = 9

= 1x + 2 x = 9

= 3x = 9

= x = 9 - 3

= 6 ( first number)

to find second number we will subtract first number by 3

so the second number is 3

and the sum of 6 and 3 is 9 so the answer is correct.

we have to also find the numbers in reciprocal

its simple we just have to reciprocal our answer that is 6 and 3.

so the answer in reciprocal is 1/6 and 1/3

the sum of 1/3 and 1/6 is 1/2 as it is written in the question, so our answer is correct.

if the sum of 1/6 + 1/3 is not 1/2 then our solution is wrong.

Hope it helped you ....

\small\sf{Let\:the\:no.\:be\:a\:and\:b}

\therefore

\longrightarrow\small\sf{a+b=9}....(1)

\longrightarrow\small\sf{\frac{a}{b}=\frac{1}{2}}

\longrightarrow\small\sf{2a=6}

\longrightarrow\small\sf{b=2a}....(2)

\small\sf{Keeping\:eq(2)\:in\:1}

\longrightarrow\small\sf{a+2b=9}

\longrightarrow\small\sf{3a=9}

\longrightarrow\small\sf{a=\frac{9}{3}}

\longrightarrow\small\sf{a=3}

\small\sf{Keeping\:value\:of\:a\:in\:eq(2),}
