Sum of two number is 95.If one exceeds the other by 15 find the number.

\sf\huge\blue{\underline{\underline{ Solution : }}}

Given that,

  • Sum of two number is 95.If one exceeds the other by 15.

To find,

  • The two numbers.

Let,

◼ The first number be " x ".

◼ The second number be " x + 15 "..... (1)

According to the question,

Sum of the two numbers is " 95 ".

\bf\:\implies x + x + 15 = 95

\bf\:\implies 2x = 95 - 15

\bf\:\implies 2x = 80

\bf\:\implies x = \frac{80}{2}

\bf\:\implies x = 40

  • Substitute value of x in (1).

\bf\:\implies 40 + 15

\bf\:\implies 55

Verification,

Add the two numbers to get the sum 95.

➡ 40 + 55

➡ 95

Since, the sum is 95.

Hence, it was verified.
