Solution:-
Let the two number be x and y.
=> x + y = 14.
=> x = 14 - y.________(1)
=> x × y = 45
Putting eq 1 here, we get
=> (14 - y) y = 45
=> 14y - y^2 = 45
=> y^2 - 14y + 45 =0
=> y^2 - ( 9 + 5)y + 45 =0
=> y^2 - 9y - 5y + 45 =0
=> y(y -9) -5(y-9)=0
=> (y-5)(y-9)
=> y = 5 and y = 9.
Here, y carries two value.
For y = 5.
x = 14 - 5 = 9.
For y = 9.
x = 14 - 9 = 5.
