Answer :

  • The smaller number of two number is 34.

Given :

  • Sum of two numbers is 153. If the number are in the ratio of 2:7.

To Find :

  • The small number from the given two numbers.

Solution :

Let the given two numbers be 2x and 7x respectively.

According to Question now :

  • Sum of two numbers is 153 :

→ 2x + 7x = 153

→ 9x = 153

→ x = 153 ÷ 9

x = 17

  • Hence,the value of x is 17.

Now,just simply plug x = 17 value in given two assumed numbers to find the smaller number :

  • 2x = 2(17) = 34
  • 7x = 7(17) = 119

  • Hence,the smaller number of two number is 34.
