sum of two numbers is 30. if one number is half of the other number. find the number?

other number  is half of other one = x/2

sum of two numbers = 30

according to the sum ,

x+x/2 = 30

2x+x / 2 = 30

3x /2 = 30

3x = 30*2

3x = 60

x = 60/3 

x = 20
