Answers
GIVEN :–
• Sum of two numbers = 35
• Their difference = 13
TO FIND :–
• The numbers = ?
SOLUTION :–
• Let the numbers are "x" & "y" .
• According to the first condition –
=> x + y = 35 ______________eq.(1)
• According to the second condition –
=> x - y = 13 ______________eq.(2)
• Add eq.(1) & eq.(2) –
=> (x + y) + ( x - y) = 35 + 13
=> 2x = 48
=> x = 48/2
=> x = 24
• Using eq.(1) –
=> 24 + y = 35
=> y = 35 - 24
=> y = 11
• Hence , Second Option is correct.
Let the two numbers be x and y.
As per question sum of two numbers is
x+y=35......eq(1)
And their difference is x−y=13...................................eq(2)
On Adding equation 1 and 2 we get
x+y=35
x−y=13
____________
2x=48
Therefore x=24
As per equation (1) x+y=35
Putting the value of x we get,24+y=35
Therefore y=11
THEREFORE, THE SOLLUTIONS ARE( 24,11).
OPTION 2 IS CORRECT.
