Given:-

⠀⠀⠀◍ Sum of two person ages are 8.

⠀⠀⠀◍ Sum of the ages is 4 times the

⠀⠀⠀⠀difference of their age.

To find:-

⠀⠀⠀◍ Age of first person.

⠀⠀⠀◍ Age of second person.

Let:-

⠀⠀⠀◍ Age of first person = x

⠀⠀⠀◍ Age of second person = y

Equations:-

⠀⠀◍ x + y = 8⠀⠀⠀................eq..1

⠀⠀◍ 4(x - y) = 8

⠀⠀⠀4x - 4y = 8⠀⠀...............eq..2

Solution:-

⠀⠀⠀✯ x = 8 - y

★Putting the value of x in eq2

⠀⠀⠀✯ 4(8 - y) - 4y = 8

⠀⠀⠀✯ 32 - 4y - 4y = 8

⠀⠀⠀✯ 32 - 8y = 8

⠀⠀⠀✯ 8y = 32 - 8

⠀⠀⠀✯ 8y = 24

⠀⠀⠀✯ y = 24/8

⠀⠀⠀✯ y = 3

★putting the value of y in eq1

⠀⠀⠀✯ x + y = 8

⠀⠀⠀✯ x + 3 = 8

⠀⠀⠀✯ x = 8 - 3

⠀⠀⠀✯ x = 5

Answer:-

★ The age of first person is 5 years.

★ The age of second person is 3 years.
