SOLUTION

GIVEN

  • Sum of two positive natural numbers is 44.

  • One exceeds the other by 11

TO DETERMINE

The numbers

EVALUATION

Here it is given that One exceeds the other by 11

Let the numbers are x and x + 11

Now sum of the numbers = 44

So by the given condition

x + x + 11 = 44

⇒ 2x + 11 = 44

⇒2x = 33

⇒x = 16.5

But 16.5 is not a natural number

So such two natural numbers do not exist such that Sum of two positive natural numbers is 44 and one exceeds the other by 11
