Let the unknown rational number be x

Given,

Sum of two rational numbers is1/2. ifone of them is -1/4

→x+(-1/4)=1/2

$x = \frac{1}{2} + \frac{1}{4}$

x=3/4

a = (2 + 1) ÷ 4
