Sum of two rational numbers is 1 If one of them is 4/5 find the other

Let the unknown rational no. be x.

so, we can form the equation;

x + 4/5 = 1

x  = 1 - 4/5

x = 1 * 5 - 4 / 5

x = 5 -4 / 5

x = 1/  5

Ok,I’m new and this is my first time answering a question

So if 4/5 is one number then let the other number be x

So,

X + 4/5 = 1
If u transpose 4/5 to RHS,
X=1 - 4/5
1 is nothing but a whole of a fraction
So,
X=5/5 - 4/5
X=1/5
