To find out :- value of third root .

Solution :-

Step 1)  By comparing with standard eqn , a = 1 , b = 500 , c = 800 .

Step 2) we know the sum of the roots is = -b/a

Therefore , α+β+∝= -b/a

α+β = 400 , (given )

Thus ,

400 + ∝ = -(500/1)

∝ = -500 - 400 = -900

therefore , value of third root is : - 900
