SOLUTION

GIVEN

Sum of zeroes of the polynomial p(x) =x²- kx + 9 is 7

TO DETERMINE

The value of k

CONCEPT TO BE IMPLEMENTED

If the Sum of zeroes and Product of the zeroes of a quadratic polynomial is given then the quadratic polynomial is

 \sf{ {x}^{2}  -(Sum  \: of \:  the \: zeroes )x +  Product \:  of  \: the \:  zeroes }

EVALUATION

Here the given polynomial is

p(x) = x²- kx + 9

Now Comparing with

 \sf{ {x}^{2}  -(Sum  \: of \:  the \: zeroes )x +  Product \:  of  \: the \:  zeroes }

Sum of the zeroes = k

Product of the Zeros = 9

Again it is given that Sum of zeroes of the polynomial p(x) =x²- kx + 9 is 7

So From above we get k = 7
