Step-by-step explanation:

Let Sumitra has 'x' 50-paise coins & 'y' 25-paise coins.

She has rs 34

So rs 1 = 100 paise

rs 34 = 34*100 = 3400 paise

50x + 25y = 3400 ----------- (1)

Given that , y = 2x ------------(2)

from equation (1) & (2) we get

50x + 25*(2x) = 3400

50x + 50x = 3400

100x = 3400

x = 34

From (2) we get

y = 2x = 2*34 = 68

So,

Number of 50-paise coins = 34

Number of 25-paise coins = 68

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Sumitra’s Rs2 coins be x

Since Rs1 coins are twice that of Rs2 in number, then Rs1  = 2x

Rs2 = x

Rs1 = 2x

But the value of Rs2 is twice that of Rs1, therefore

Rs2 = 2x

Rs2x + 2Rs1x = Rs136

Rs4x = Rs136

x = 34

Rs2 = 34 in number

Rs1 = 2x = 2(34)

=68 in number
