The first chapter of Tsunami describes some of the tragic incident that happened during the period when it hit the Southern coast of India.

It was in the early morning that the people of Andaman were woken up due the severe earthquake. They ran all out of the house and saw the sea rising and tried to flee. However, many were swept away with the waves. Many people saved their lives clinging to the logs and the woods that came floating although many lost their life.
