This is the third casket scene with bassanio as the suitor we see portia very unlike how we have seen her so far.She says bassanio to postpone his choice for a few days for if he loses they have to part company immediately for she says it is not love that makes her say but the she conducts herself before Bassanio who is more than enough to tell anyone that she is in love unable to tell hide feelings any longer,Portia finally says 'One half of me is yours,the other half belongs to you........ And so i am all yours!' bassanio however cannot bear the wait any longer and wants to find out his Fortune without further delay .Portia ask for music to be played so that bassanio and make it choice in a benefiting manner the song leads Bassanio to the idea of falls out words and he is able to see through the 'gaudy gold' and 'common drudge' and arrive at 'meagre lead'. He makes his choice and is rewarded with the portrait of Portia. In a daze, Bassanio seeks Portia, confirmation that he has indeed won her hand Portia,on her apart is overwhelmed with joy and ecstacy--she regards herself no more than 'an unleasoned girl' and surrender's all she has to Bassanio to be directed him as 'her lord'. She gives her all to Bassanio with a ring as a Symbol of love.
