Hey, there!
Here you go:
This story personifies a statue as alive with feelings, which people call as the happy prince, but deep within the prince is sad, since he cannot move from his place, which is a public road square, and help the needy. His statue was completely made of gold. For eyes he had two sapphires, and there was a giant ruby on his sword. There once comes a swallow (a little bird) at his place, and the prince asks the swallow to help the needy, by giving away his ruby, sapphires and gold one by one. The swallow actually was going to migrate to the south the very next day, but the prince stopped her. Since the prince becomes blind after giving away his sapphires, the swallow stays pities his condition and stays with him. But she dies after sometime, due to the unbearable cold. The prince also gives up his life, because he blames himself for the poor little bird's death. Later the statue of the prince is removed from the square, since it appears to be ugly, sad and lifeless, and is burnt on the mayor's command. But the prince's heart does not burn and melt. Once, god asks one of his angels to bring him the two most beautiful things on earth, and he brings him the swallow's body and the prince's tin heart. God becomes really happy and blesses the angel. He reunites the prince and the swallow in heaven. People believe that they sometimes look down upon the earth and grieve for the poor and needy people. The also help them at times.
