Ballad of the Tempest by James T Fields describes the experiences of a ship crew as they go through a storm.

The poem has a religious theme as the sailors being reminded of God alleviates their fears of dying in the storm.

Answer:

Explanation:Tempest” is one of the last plays written by William Shakespeare. This play is all about a ship at a sea during the "Tempest" or a violent Storm.

The king of Naples, Alonso along with his son Ferdinand, Antonio, and the nobles are drowned in a storm. Prospero caused that storm and said to his daughter Miranda that he did that for a good reason.

Prospero once used to be the Duke of Milan and he was betrayed by his brother Antonio, who stole the dukedom with the consent of the king. Prospero and his daughter were taken in a boat which wrecked and they ended up on an island. He took care of Miranda for the last 12 years and he took that as the time for revenge.

The people who were responsible for stealing Prospero's dukedom were the ones who drowned in the storm. Alonso who allowed Antonio to steal Prospero's dukedom searched for his son, Prince Ferdinand who was also missing.

On the other hand, Ferdinand was convinced that everyone in the boat was dead. He fell in love with Miranda, who was made to carry woods after being called as traitor by Prospero. Miranda reciprocates to his love and he promises to marry her.

Alonso and the nobles are then informed that the sea took the life of the prince due to the sins committed by Alonso against Prospero. Alonso repents for his mistakes while Ferdinand gets permission from Prospero to get married to Miranda.

Caliban, Prospero's slave plans to kill him so that he can own the island. But he repents when he is caught by Prospero.

At last, Prospero meets Alonso who apologizes to him and returns back his dukedom. Everybody decides to head back to Naples where Prospero would retire from his duke ship after Ferdinand- Miranda's marriage.
