Surdas was blind saint. He was also a poet and a musician and was famous for his devotional songs. It is said that he composed more than a hundred thousand songs in his opus "Sur Sagar".

Surdas attained fame for his devotion towrds Lord Krishna. His writings are in a dialect of Hindia language "Brij Bhasha".
