He gets a job as a salesman, but one day he meets with a bicycle accident in which he loses a leg. The day after he is discharged from the hospital, he is informed that he has been fired. He knocks on every door in search of a job again and locks his soles. He gets a job washing dishes in a hotel. As he cleans the dirty dishes every day, he dreams of Suhra coming back home and waits for her to return. Before he can eventually marry the woman of his life, he must make enough money to return home and pay off debts. Her mother writes to her that Suhra is ill and Suhra later died.
