"Bhiksha Patra" is a Hindi story of Gautam Buddha. The summary of the story is given below.

  • Once in a village, there was no rain for 3 years. It was dry everywhere.
  • Rivers became dry. It was hard to grow crops. The trees could not produce any leaves. The chirps of birds and insects became very rare to hear.
  • Then everyone in the village tried to find a solution. But they could not find any immediately.
  • Then they all agreed to go to Gautam Budhha. After listening to their problems, Budhha suggested the wealthy people of the village feed the hungry in the village.
  • Then the people refused to do so telling him that they did not have enough food to feed all the hungry.
  • Then one poor girl came to Budhha and said that she will feed all the hungry by begging each and every person in the village. Listening to her wishes Budhha blessed her and her begging bowl was always full.
  • After some days, it was raining and everyone became happy.
