Activities in economics are divided into 3 sectors: primary, secondary and tertiary. These activities are known as economic activities. Economic activities have two activities which are- market activities and non-market activities. Market activities involve activities which receive money or profit. Non-market activities are the for self-consumption.
Women are paid less than men in the same work done. This is because men were considered more superior than women and people thought women don't have skills to do work men do.
Quality of population can increase in 2 ways: By providing education and increasing health.
Education: Literacy is needed for citizens to perform their duties and enjoy their rights properly. That is why education is important. Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, which was introduced in the year 2010 provides elementary education to all children in the age group of 6–14 years. To encourage attendance and retention of children and improve their nutritional status, a mid-day meal scheme was also introduced. With education, a child is educated and can earn a good amount of money at a higher age.
Health: Improvement in the health status of the population has been the main thing to achieve in the country. The National Policy aimed at improving the accessibility of healthcare, family welfare and nutritional service. If health of a person is good, they can do more work and can earn more money.
Unemployment
Unemployment is one of the main problems in India. There are different types of unemployment in rural and urban areas. In rural areas, unemployment is seasonal and disguised. Seasonal unemployment is if someone works for a season and the other season, they don't have a job. Disguised unemployment is when a person is employed to work but is actually not needed.
