The theme of the story "The Banyan Tree" by "R.K. Narayan" revolves around the theme of story-telling about a boy who was isolated, faced many hardships and it often revolves around the loyalty, escape, selfishness and failure embeds in him. In southern India, in a remote village people are more attached to perpetual attachment. The entire story revolves around a person named “nambi”. He is an illiterate but he had very good imagination power. Every month, he used to weave a story on his own and delivers the same to the audience in open space in moonlight. Nambi did not have any possession. He used to spend his time on all days under a Banyan tree, which was present in front of a temple. Villagers in his village, were very fond of him.
