actually this chapter is all about their Seattle giving speech to the Americans about all his memories about the tribe ,how the tribe came to be less in number,about their beliefs,etc.

Actually chief Seattle is not a red Indian but from the suquamish tribe.He is giving this speech because as the red Indians were decreasing in number the Americans were asking for the land promising to give them a separate place where they can stay .The speech was written in the year 1854.He also mentions about the old enemies of red Indians-the Haidas and the Tsimshians.Moreover the speech is like a prayer.
