The summary of the lesson - The last leaf
Jhonsy a young girl who was suffering from pneumonia has left all her hope about getting well again . But her friend Sue who lived with her in the same flat took care of her . All day Jhonsy keeps on peeping out of the window very next to her bed . When one day Sue tried to distract Jhonsy from thinking about her illness she heard Jhonsy counting the falling leaves of a tree . Jhonsy believed that will the falling of the last leaf , she would die . After hearing all this , Sue went to Mr. Behrman who was a great painter and lived at the ground floor of the same flat. Firstly he didn't spoke anything but he did a lot to save Jhonsy's life . When Jhonsy saw the last leaf on the tree , she determined that it would surely fall by the next day morning and slept ; Even though it was raining hard outside , Mr. Behrman went out in the rain and painted an excellent portrait of the last leaf which had already fell due to stormy winds . As a result of going out in the rain , Behrman fell ill seriously due to pneumonia and died. But only because of his efforts and sacrifice , Jhonsy grew well again .
