THE BROOK (SUMMARY)
In this poem the Brook itself is the narrator and a personified object. It narrates, a musical life journey of Brook in comparison to human life. The Brook in this poem narrates how it originates, from where and how it flows. How it joins the brimming river. It's ultimate destination. The Brook's journey in this poem has been compared with human life in form of many similarities. The Brook narrates that it takes birth from a place less visited by common people and visited by coats and herns. Then it flows suddenly down the valley. In its journey towards the brimming river, the Brook crosses through many hills, villages, towns and bridges and finally joins the remain river. While flowing by various places, it makes sounds and noises while having the company of rocky land and stones. It chatters over stony waves and bubbles around the way filled with gravels and pebbles. It flows under the moon light and stars to meet the remain River. It changes its course and movement in relation to places and situations that it faces while flowing. It hurries down the hills, steal by lawns and grassy pots, slights by, slips by the sides and between ridges. It flows in a zig-zag manner. It assumes different moods and situations seeing the conditions coming in front of it. Finally, it joins the brimming river and looses its identity as man loose their identity in front of death when the soul departs from this world.
