The first flight talks about the young seagull who is unwilling to take the plunge and take his first flight. He feels sacred because of the height and the vast expansion of sea.His parents are upbraiding him, scolding him and cajoling him to fly but he cannot do it. The parents decide the seagull to be left alone. They go down to the plateau and teach his siblings the art of flying and ignores the seagull. the seagull has not eaten anything since yesterday. He is hungry. His mother could see him and she tantalised the seagull with the fish. Maddened with hunger, the seagull moved toward the fish, fell from the cliff and made his first flight.
