Robert Hooke was the first to discovered cell in 1665.
Prokaryotic cell:These organisms have primitive and incomplete cells. Those are lack of nuclear membrane around their genetic substances.
Eukaryotic cell:These have advanced and
complete cell. These cells contains membrane bound Nuclei and other cellular organelles.
Structure of cell:The outer boundary of cell is the Plasma membrane. Inside it lies the cytoplasm. Various cellular or cell organelles are suspended in the cytoplasm. And at the center there is a nucleus.
Plasma membrane :It permits the entry and exit of some materials in the cell. Therefore it is also known as selective permeable membrane. Some substances such as carbon dioxide and oxygen can move across it through a process called diffusion.
The spontaneous movement of water molecules through it is called osmosis.
Endocytosis:Endocytosis is the ingestion of materials by the cell through the plasma membrane.
Nucleus:The nucleus is a large, centrally located spherical cellular component. It is bounded by two nuclear membranes both forming a nuclear envelope. It controls the structure and working of cell.
Cytoplasm :The part of the cell which occurs between the plasma membrane and nuclear membrane is called cytoplasm.
Cell organelles :Endoplasmic Reticulum which form supporting frame work of the cell.
Ribosomes which play an important role in the synthesis of protein.
Golgi apparatus which main function is secretory.
Lysosomes which are known as suicide bags.
Mitochondria which are the power house of the cell.
