Summary of Lighthouse poem by Marjorie Wilson
Answers
In her poem, the Lighthouse, the poetess, Marjorie Wilson has painted a beautiful and nostalgic picture that described the lighthouse which stood on the shore.
The lighthouse stands lonely on the hidden shores and shines a light which guides the ships and boats along their way.
It the past, people used to guard the lighthouse and adjust the lights for helping all the ships that passed near the shores.
The poetess says that this would be a very lonely life that was led by these people, since these shores did not have any fields, streets or shops to visit. They did not get to hear the whispering of the trees but only had to listen to the voices of the seas.
The lighthouse stays awake even when the people sleep and shine a bright light, which she believed was like a rope which saved the ships passing by.
