Summary of Mad Gardener's song by lewis caroll:
- The poem appears in Sylvie and Bruno . The gardener sings this song when the children and professor are near him.
- However, it is not a complete poem at once and actually quite distributed and split up. He recites it partially , para by para in response to the conversation between the children and professor.
- Most of the poem is outright nonsense and doesn’t have much meaning even in the book other than some specified references.
- Some parts are simply requests for children to fulfill, like leave.
- Towards the end of the poem you can see the change into the song into mentioning the door that the children are searching.
