Explanation:

The day of the inauguration ceremony comes soon after their independence on 10th May 1994. Nelson Mandela is constantly surrounded by generals and other political leaders from all over the world to watch the ceremony held at the sandstone amphitheatre of the Pretoria. Nelson Mandela says that this this is the first time this land will see so many colours all at one place. The second deputy President, Mr de Klerk first takes the oath then the first deputy President, Thabo Mbeki. When Nelson Mandela's time came he took his pledge ( i attached the pic of the pledge). He then watches the arrays of jets and helicopters and thinks that today they ate supporting him, if this was still the apartheid regime then they would have captured their now President. Nelson Mandela is reminded of the past struggles he and other leaders had to uptake for freedom. He believes the effect of apartheid won't go away that easily. It would take years of generations to recover. ( Name of some fighters are given in book.) The chapter mainly focuses on the bad effects of being oppressed and the importance of freedom. He says that a man has two obligations one is towards his family, friends and relatives and the other is towards his country. He says the feeling of love naturally comes to human heart.

P.S. - On the day of inauguration ceremony, two national anthems took place , the blacks sung Die Stem the anthem of the Republic and the whites sung Nkosi Sikelel - iAfrika.

Best of luck for ur xam tomorrow
