Summary of the Poem "Each and All"
The narrator, perhaps Emerson himself, first conditions that most people don't think that how other people observe them.
The storyteller recalls finding some beautiful seashells on the shore, but once again, when he brings this home, he finds that they have "left their loveliness on the shore." Once removed from their framework, he finds that they no longer grip the same charm.
Finally, he defines a pair of lovers. The lady, while still a virgin, looks like a "fairy" to her beloved—until she comes to him as a wife, and he comprehends that she is not a paranormal creature but a real person.
