Answer:
King Ahmak Shah is a narrative poem written by C. H. Payne.
Summary of the poem:
One fine day, an Arab Merchant came to the court of Ahmak Shah. "Whence are you and what is your business?" asked the King, the merchant bowed till his head touched the floor and addressed the king as the protector of the poor and asked for one paltry lakh in lieu of the finest horse in Arab. Without thinking twice, the king gave 1 lakh to the merchant. That very night, the king was in a merry mood and had nothing to do, thus He bade his minister to a list of the greatest fools he knew. Once the list was done, the minister read it in order of merit. Stupified, the king's name was on the head of the list. Aligated, the king asked the minister why had he placed his name at the top of the list. The minister has placed the king's name for giving one lakh to a stranger without thinking twice about it. He added on that, his name would be replaced if he brings the horse to the king.
