Stanza 1

The poet is saying that once the sky is full of those clouds which might be moisture-laden, are full of water and are approximately to carry rain, whilst such clouds hover around in the sky, standard the starry spheres. At that time, large clouds which are full of moisture, flow round within the sky and the unhappy darkness of the night time are wiped off by using the raindrops which look like tears falling from the sky. The poet is comparing raindrops to tears and he says that the darkish sky which seems to be very unhappy, it seems as if it's miles crying and the raindrops are the tears shed via it. He adds that it is like a blessing to lie at the mattress in his room and listen to the sound made with the aid of raindrops falling on the roof.

Stanza 2

The poet is expressing his feelings while he hears the raindrops falling at the rooftop of his house. He says that each tinkle at the shingles has an echo inside the heart. Whenever he hears the rain falling on the rooftop, the sound repeats in his coronary heart and in his goals, he has many extraordinary, fanciful imaginations. He provides that this sound of the rain falling on the rooftop creates many new one of a kind desires in his thoughts. He remembers many memories of the past which come again into his mind as goals. So, he says that as he listens to the patter of the rain upon the roof, he has many new dreams in his mind and the memories of the past come lower back in the shape of desires.

Stanza 3

The poet introduces his mother. He says that he is dreaming of his mother. As he had informed inside the preceding stanza that rain brings recollections of the past – it's far the reminiscence of his mother who is now not alive. Within the past, she used to like him plenty, she used to don't forget him a darling and he or she could let him sleep till dawn and feature sweet goals. The poet can nonetheless sense that his mother is looking at him as he listens to the song made by means of the raindrops falling at the rooftop of his room. The sound of the rain makes him correlate his past with his present. That is why the poet is moved by using the sound of the raindrops on the shingles of his room. On every occasion he hears this sound it brings lower back recollections of the beyond and he is reminded of his mom.
