The poem is about an unnamed women that's quite striking. The speaker compares her with things that are beautiful but also contains darkness, such as the "night" and "starry skies". In the second stanza, the speaker continues to use the contrast between light and dark, day and night, in order to describe the women's beauty. We also learned that her face is "pure" and "sweet", but as the poem continues, we are being revealed that she's not only beautiful, but she is also "good" and "innocent".
