it is a story of a young girl living in highlands. As she cuts binds grain, the poet listen to her song and is mesmerized by it he lingers there and listens her sad song not knowing what she sang as she sang in other language. The poet compared her song to cuckoo and nightingale, and also thought what she may be singing either something destructive past or some ordinary song and as he mounted up the hill, the sound became inaudible.
