The returned Heart by Sarah Dixon
The man in Dixon Poem left her in a place that was difficult for her like she did for him.


She loved him so much and gave him  her all, while she was giving he was not doing anything but talking.
The speaker yells "unhappy rover'' because she lost something that she thought she had which was love (Dixon).
The man never really cared for her like she did for him.  After this her love could never be repaired because she would never look at men the same.
The women suffered tremendous heartache, the men they loved left them to be on their own.
Thomas finance could not control the fact that he left her but he could have proposed sooner.
Thomas should have tried to marry, although she was passed her time.
At the end of the poem, She says, ''No art, nor time such ravage can repair'' meaning that no matter what happens things will never be the same.

In this poem the poet writes about the heartbreak that one has to go through. The poet writes about her lost love when she and her partner are no longer together. Her partner leaves her and she compares this situation which the metaphorical returning of her heart which once she had metaphorically given to her partner in love.

She identifies her heart and says that it belongs to her because it is so faithful. It was so bruised and aching because her partner mistreated her love but yet again she recollect herself and tries to look at the brighter side. She concludes by saying that she is free and on her own in the end.
