A small poem by Robert Louis Stevenson who was a Scottish author renowned for writing Treasure Island.

Stevenson had written many poems which includes this one which was published in Child's Garden of Verses.

Some comments from our readers where "I hope my recording floats your boat." - Asaf

"Help prevent toy loss tie boat dock after play." - Bruce.

I perceive this simple little verse is about time and writing.

Of course it may just be regarding "little boats."

It is a poem written by Robert louis stevenson.

This poem is about a child that longs for its boat (The one with which children usually play).

As the boat moves the child asks the boats that when will they come back and he soon realized that it will not come back and maybe it could be brought ashore by other people.

These were the thoughts of that kid.

Here the child overcoming his feelings is compared to the love of the adult people, whether it is boat in a childhood or love in adulthood earning is same.
