'wind' by Subramania Bharati describes the nature of the wind. It's nature can be understood with respect to the challenges of life. A difficult situation tests a person and it makes a person strong as the famous saying goes - Stroms make trees take deeper roots.

The poet pleads to the wind to blow softly. but the strong wind does not listen to the poet's request and throws all the books and tears their pages. The wind also brings rain. The poet calls the wind clever for poking fun at weaklings . The wind God crushes doors, rafters, wood, bodies, lives and hearts. He does not spare anything. The poet encourages people to build strong, homes and firm doors. He says that by being strong, the wind will be friends with us. The poet states that the wind blows out weak fires and makes strong fires roar and flourish.
