a) Santosh was born in a small village named Joniyawas of Rewari district ,Haryana.
b) The birth of a son was regarded as a blessing in her village and a daughter though not considered a curse was not usually welcome.
c) she had five brothers and she was the only daughter in her family.
d)from the very beginning Santosh started living life in our own terms
d)When other girls in her village wore traditional dresses she preferred shorts .
e) According to the prevailing custom ,she had to study in the local village school eventhough her parents were affluent land owners,who could even afford to send their child to study in the country 's capital ,New Delhi.
