line six and seven: the scarecrow stands up the cut stalks of cereal plants left in the ground after harvesting and he is comparing himself to mail/armor as he is also not able to make movement freely like armor so he is stiff in the morning as sun has not risen and later in the day the sun rises and softens scarecrow down.LINE 9 - 16

But when the spring season comes in full bloom on the land which is a home to the scarecrow, it feels a certain amount of delight and hope within him. the scarecrow lifts its dull eyes and searches the vast sky for crows; the crows which are the black colored enemies of his strange master.

LINE 17- END OF THE POEM

The scarecrow watches his master's long, stiff but steady steps that show his excitement for the spring season. the scarecrow knows now that the cereal plants would soon grow in the fields which was covered with snow in the winters. very soon the scarecrow will be able to see the vast fields covered with grain shining due to the sunlight and this was the time that he was long waiting for.
