In this story, Virginia Cunningham (Olivia de Havilland) is chaotic upon finding herself in an exceedingly mental institution, with no memory of her arrival at the institute. Tortured by misconceptions and unable to even identify her husband, Robert (Mark Stevens), she is cured by Dr. Mark Kik (Leo Genn), who is firm to get to the root of her mental illness. As her treatment advances, flashbacks depict events in Virginia's life that may have subsidized to her instability
