This is touching story . it tells us how war affected peoples . due to war people have to leave their cities or countries . they have to leave their belongings behind . the narrators family also suffered from the war and had to leave their native place . before the onset of the war the narrators moth3r had given her belongings ti a women . many years after the war the narrators come back to that city . her mother had given her the address .of the women who she had given her belongings .the girl came to the womens house and recognised something .bthese things brought back painful memories . she could not say there and left this place . Thus the story tells about the predicament of that follows war.

The address is the story which is an account of Jewish Girl's journey to her home in Holland, where she and her mother had toh leave their motherland because of Nazis cruelity, during the 2nd world war. After recovering from a trauma of war she decided to visit the address that her mother have given to her .So, she could reclaim (to get back) all her mother's possession. On her 1st to that address she finds that the lady at 1st refuses to recognize and later show her inconvenience to talk her at that moment.On her second on different date she get into a position where she is haunted by the old memories that of her mother . She decided to forget the address of that lady since thought things had no meaning for her without her mother . She even resolves to start a new beginning.
