Answer:

Mr. Purcell was a short, fussy, professional man who wore large glasses making him look like a friendly, wise owl. He had a pet shop which had all necessary items required for care of animals and birds.  The noise made by the caged animals did not bother him. Generally his shop used to have a lot of customers however one cold day he waited for customers but none came.

So he sat on a stool and started reading the newspaper when suddenly he noticed a man standing. He wondered how the man had arrived since he did not make any sound. Anyhow, as a good shopkeeper he attended to his customer.

The man told Mr. Purcell that he desired for something in a cage. The man then bought a pair of doves  for 5 dollars. The man told Mr. Purcell that he had made this much money through ten years of hard work in prison . Then the shop keeper saw a very astonishing sight the man released the cage birds as soon as he left the shop.

The shopkeeper thought of it as a waste of money but he did not realize that the man knew the feeling of being locked up thus he set the birds free because he had realized the importance of freedom.

There was a person named Mr Purcell. He used to run a pet shop. In that pet shop, he used to sell cats, dogs, birds etc their food and medicines. One day a person came to his shop. This guest was wearing a new but cheap coat and looked money deprived. He glanced at the shop items and chose a cage. He asked Mr Purcell "I want something in the cage". Purcell advised the person to keep some white rats. The guest settled on a pair of the dove. The guest asked about the price. Mr Purcell quoted 50 dollars for each. The guest replied he had only 5 dollars. Purcell calculated that even after deducting 50 cents for expenses, he still can make a small profit; so accepted the offer.

Now the guest asked Mr Purcell to guess the time in which the guest had earned the money. Purcell was sceptical and did not tell anything. The guest replied 10 years and went out of the shop. Now Purcell saw that the guest is releasing the dove by his hands. Purcell felt like being cheated.

Moral: Here the story suggests that the guest was in prison for 10 years and knew the importance of freedom. This story tells us that we should not imprison a living animal or harm them in any way.
