Answer:

The Clever Rabbit

The lion is the king of the jungle. Once there was a lion that was not grateful for being king. Instead he thought he was better than everyone else. He would say, "Look at me I'm the greatest, I'm the strongest, I'm the most virtuous, I'm simply the best". Well his wife told him, "If you are the best, why don't you ask everyone else, maybe they don't think so."

This concerned the lion. So he went to every animal there was and asked them. He said, "Don't worry, I won't hurt you, I just want to ask you a question. Who is the king of the jungle? Who is the greatest." Every one was too afraid to tell him that they thought he was too proud. They thought he might eat them if they said something he wouldn't like. So they all told him, "You are the king of the jungle, you are the greatest".

Everyone except for the rabbit. The rabbit wasn't scared. He wasn't afraid because he was very clever and he had an idea. He told the lion, "You are not the greatest." The lion got very angry after hearing this. He roared, "Well if I'm not the greatest, who is?!!!! I want to meet them!!"

So the rabbit told him, "Follow me, I'll show you". They came to a clearing in the jungle where there was a well. The rabbit said, "Put your head in there and roar". So the lion roared in the well. The roar echoed back very loudly. The lion, a little bit nervous now, asked, "Who is that? Is that another lion??" The rabbit said, "Yes it is. He's down there and he says he's the real king of the jungle and the he's much greater than you".

This made the lion more angry than he had ever been. "I'll show him!!! I'm the greatest!!! And he jumped in to the well trying to defeat the other lion. The lion was never heard of again. That is how the rabbit tricked the lion. Even though the lion was the strongest, the rabbit was more clever. Sometimes the smallest are the sharpest.

clever whale

Gail the Whale lived in a small salty lake. She was the only whale in that territory, and she led a very comfortable life. In fact, this easy life made her a bit fussy. But, one year, there was such an incredibly hot summer that the lake's water really warmed up. Gail, used to such an ideal existence, could hardly stand the hot water. A little fish, which had spent some time in a child's goldfish bowl, told Gail that humans used fans to cool themselves down in summer. From then on, Gail the Whale couldn't think of anything else apart from how to build her very own fan.

Everyone told her that she was overreacting, and that the hot weather would soon pass, but Gail got to work, constructing her enormous fan. When it was finally finished, she started fanning away at herself.

Unlucky for the fish!

The giant fan beat the little lake's waters so strongly that huge waves rolled right across it. The waves crashed onto the lakeshore, leaving the lake half empty, and Gail stranded in only a few inches of water.

"You couldn't just hang on for while. You had to empty the lake," some unhappy-looking fish berated her.

"So impatient! So selfish!" others shouted. But the worst of it for Gail was not the insults, but the fact that with so little water around her, the heat was becoming unbearable. Preparing herself to die of heatstroke, she said her goodbyes to all her friends, and they asked for her forgiveness. She assured them all that if she were to live again she would be stronger and learn to put up with life's discomforts.

Yet, once again, Gail the Whale was overreacting. She managed to survive those hot days without dying, although, of course, she suffered. When the next rains arrived, the lake filled up again, and the weather improved. Naturally, Gail had to keep her promise, and show everyone that she had learned not to be so dependent on comfort, so impatient, and so fussy.

Answer:

A herd of elephants lived in a forest. They fed on the leaves of the wild trees and drank the cool water from the stream that flowed through the forest. One year, drought hit the area where the forest was located. Many animals fled the forest to other places which had no lack of water or food. The leader of the elephants was worried. He was called Iravat and he took good care of his herd. He sent his brothers to look for water. After a long search, they located a lake at the far end of the forest. They decided to quench their thirst and take their baths there very morning.
