Death of trees by Ruskin bond:

  • The death of trees is written by Ruskin Bond. The central theme is loss, progress, powerlessness, change, conflict and acceptance.
  • His Collected Short Stories which is narrated by the first person and unnamed narrator. He explained in his poem the trees which are outside of the narrator’s home are to be removed.
  • These things are to be done for making a new bypass. It is as though the world that the narrator once knew is changing forever due to the loss of the trees.
  • Not only are the trees to be lost but the narrator’s peace of mind is also lost. The sounds that he was once accustomed to (the birds) are no longer such is the progress that is being made by the development of the road.
